Scroll your mouse wheel as fast as you can!
Welcome to the Scroll Speed Test! Most people focus on clicking, but scrolling is a vital skill for browsing, gaming, and productivity. Have you ever wondered how many "notches" you can scroll in a single second?
Our scroll speed test measures your ability to spin that mouse wheel with maximum velocity. Whether you use an infinite scroll wheel or a traditional clicky one, this tool gives you a precise breakdown of your performance.
Some "infinite" scroll wheels can spin for over 30 seconds with a single flick! These wheels can reach thousands of scrolls per minute.
A Scroll Speed Test (or Scroll Counter) works by listening to the "wheel" event in your browser. Every time you move your mouse wheel, your computer sends a signal. We count these signals and divide them by the total time to get your Scrolls Per Second (SPS).
To take the test, simply place your mouse over the dashed area and start scrolling! You don't need to click anythingโthe timer will start the moment we detect movement. Try to keep a consistent speed for the full 5, 10, or 30 seconds.
In battle royale games like Fortnite or Apex Legends, using the scroll wheel to pick up items is often faster than using a key.
Quickly flicking through your inventory can save your life in a tense firefight. Precision scrolling is a pro skill!
Browsing long documents or news feeds becomes a breeze when you have mastered the art of high-speed scrolling.
Use your middle finger for scrolling instead of your index finger. This leaves your index finger free to click, and many find it more comfortable for speed.
If you have a Logitech or similar pro mouse, press the "infinite scroll" button to let your wheel spin freely. You will see your scores explode!
Instead of one long stroke, try many short, rapid movements with your finger to keep the wheel spinning at its peak speed.
Scroll speed depends heavily on your hardware. Here are some benchmarks:
Yes! Use two fingers to scroll up and down on your trackpad. Most modern laptops have very high-resolution scrolling.
Some inexpensive mice have a "limit" on how many events they send per second. A gaming mouse will always give higher results.
In some games, yes! Many players bind their "jump" or "interact" key to the scroll wheel for instant activation.
Absolutely. It is a harmless and fun way to test your coordination and hardware!
Fixed an issue where trackpad scrolling was too sensitive. Added "Scroll Area" visualizer for better user feedback.
